Activity Packs For Kids - 5 Things To Put In A Kids Activity Pack
What is an activity pack and what should you put in one? Well here at Crafty Crew this is what we do for a living so let me help you by telling you of five things to put in a kids activity pack. Your kids will have fun and be engaged and happy with just these few items that will keep them busy, so let's get to it...
What is an activity pack?
Kids Activity Packs are a proven way of keeping kids interested and even educated whilst out and about, or to beat the boredom, when it rears its ugly head, in the evening or at weekends. An activity pack is simply a number of appropriate items presented together as a pack. Activity pack contents can vary in many ways, such as, price, size, recommended age group, usefulness, fun factor, etc. Items in a children's activity pack are usually centred around a theme that pulls the items together for more engagement and fun.
When it comes to thinking about what to put in a Children's Activity Pack it can sometimes prove difficult and the contents may need to reflect the occasion, for example, small and light for travelling, quiet and compact for weddings and similar functions - so definitely no mess, or party blowers! Whatever the occasion you can't go wrong with our top five things that you should put in a Kids Activity Pack to keep them happy and entertained, whatever the weather.
1. Colouring Book / Pages
You can't go far wrong with a colouring book, or colouring pages. I mean, who doesn't like to colour in? Even the adults are doing it these days! Colouring books come in all shapes and sizes too so you can keep things fairly small and light if travelling.
2. Colouring Pens / Pencils
Don't forget they'll need something to colour in with! There are many mediums to choose from for this, so what will it be? Colouring pencils, felt tip pens and crayons are all fabulous to colour in with. What's your favourite? Personally, I love a pencil, they're less likely to create stains!
3. Puzzle / Game
A sure fire winner is a small handheld game. Think of the things you used to love as a kid and you'll have cracked it. Rubik's cubes, sliding puzzles, maze games - you know the ones with the little ball inside that you have to get to the middle of the maze! Foam flyers are a firm favourite, although I wouldn't recommend these if you are hoping the child will be sitting still!
You can't beat a short storybook, or some relevant reading material suitable for the child's age. A good piece of reading material will keep them quiet for a while and is something they can become engrossed in for that long car ride, or during them boring wedding speeches! I mean I'm not saying I think wedding speeches are boring, I'm looking at it from a kids perspective, right!
5. A Craft Item
Preferably something with no sharp items, or mess! I'm talking stickers and sticker scenes, origami instructions, paper craft items, etc. There are loads to choose from. Failing that, dot-to-dot books, crosswords, spot the difference and wordsearches are all equally entertaining.
Last but not least don't forget something to put all of these lovingly curated items in! You could use a party bag, pencil case, box, plastic wallet/folder or even an envelope. As long as they have something to keep their fabulous activities in then they'll be happy as a pig in mud! (I'm thinking Peppa here!)
